Dogs are not born with an understanding of our preferences. The majority of so-called behavior problems that arise are simply due to a lack of understanding and clear communication. In fact, many of these "behavior problems" are normal dog behaviors: it's their frequency, duration, intensity, or location that we may object to. Therefore, it is our responsibility to clearly teach our dogs our preferences.
Pre-puppy Consultations and Puppy Training
We’ll help you prepare for raising an easily handled, friendly, and polite dog. The first 3 to 4 months of a dog’s life are extremely crucial because this is a very impressionable period. It's vital to get a jump start on socializing and training your puppy, teaching good manners and basic behaviors such as sit, down, stay, come, and walking on a loose leash. Teaching bite-inhibition is also imperative so that your puppy develops a soft mouth. In addition, you’ll learn about housetraining and how to prevent and manage common puppy problems such as nipping, barking, chewing, jumping up, and more.
Dog Training & Behavior Counseling
Is your dog destroying your belongings, taking you for walks, jumping up, stealing food from the table, and staying out past curfew? Perhaps you'd simply like to brush up on some of his or her behaviors or add new ones to the repertoire? These are only some of the areas we can help you with, by creating a customized plan based on the needs of you and your dog. Schedule a consultation so that we can design a program for you and get your dog practicing desirable behaviors.
